Eye Spy!

Eye Spy! - I was outside a few months ago, photographing something...really can't remember what...Spider webs with the morning sun coming through? Some egrets looking for breakfast in the back yard? Who knows...I heard a tapping on the utility room window and turned to find Drexie, wanting to get my attention. When I came closer to say hi, she hunkered down...I did have this strange contraption in my hand, and it was hanging around my neck; would it get her? Then she peaked through the window. Yeah, it got her.

Okay, so I seriously doubt I'll win any prizes with this photo, except, maybe, the coveted Awww Award. Most of that'll go to a certain grey tabby cat.

Drexie and Karma

Drexie and Karma - A follow up to this photo. Karma Kitty (the black cat) and Drexie Calabash (the grey tabby) are best buddies, though it didn't start off that way. Since kitten-hood until several months ago, Karma was literally twice Drexie's size, at one point weighing 12+ pounds to her delicate 6. When she was brought into home, Karm kept attacking, trying to chase her off. After several hours, Drexie had had enough and in defending herself, proved to be an unexpected match for the bigger cat. Now they get along just fine...Here, they're napping together, sleeping away an afternoon.

Unloading The Truck

Unloading The Truck - The Suncoast Haven of Rest was a rescue mission that fed those struggling to make ends meet. Located in Pinellas Park, Florida, they had a food pantry, served lunch and, for a while, dinner for the homeless and working poor. The mission, which has since moved from Pinellas Park, would send its truck out to pick up food from local grocery stores, restaurants, and collection sites.
