Clothesline Project, USFSP

Clothesline Project, University of South Florida St. Petersburg - The Clothesline Project started on Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1990 as a way to bring attention to domestic violence. Survivors can decorate a shirt to help express their emotions on this issue. (Those who have lost loved ones to domestic violence also can decorate a shirt in memory of their loved ones.) These shirts are then hung on local Clothesline Projects across the United States.

Several years ago, part of the Clothesline Project of Tampa Bay was set up at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.

NOTE: If you or someone you love is a victim of domestic violence/abuse, please seek help. If that person is in immediate danger, dial 9-1-1 (if available in your area), or have the emergency police number memorized for immediate help. In the U.S., help can also be obtained by calling 1−800−799−7233 or TTY 1−800−787−3224 or on the web at http://www.thehotline.org/.
